The Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame was created for the sole purpose of recording, for all time, an accurate accounting of the history of martial arts practiced within our state. It further wishes to recognize, without prejudice, all martial arts practiced in Texas as well as the martial artists themselves who have dedicated their lives to the continuous growth and development of their respective endeavors for the benefit and brotherhood of all mankind. The hall of fame does not, however, endorse people, events, or organizations. Neither does the hall of fame recognize that one instructor or system is “better than” any other person or system.

FROM THE FOUNDER
Thank you for viewing our website. Texas has a long history of promoting successful martial artists, from Jhoon Rhee bringing Taekwondo to the U.S. to Steven Lopez winning the first Olympic Gold Medal in Taekwondo as a full medal sport (previously only a demonstration sport).
We are a proud state with many accomplishments worthy of our boasting, and our martial arts industry continues this heritage through the world recognized accomplishments of our outstanding instructors, competitors and students. But, martial arts training is so much more than sport. |
|
There are literally thousands of life saving, life changing youth and adult stories attributed to martial arts training. And, in today’s world where human life has little or no value and integrity is no more than a word on a vocabulary test, martial art schools continue to set a standard for behavior and safety which is far above any other industry in modern civilization.
Whether you choose a martial art school whose focus is strictly street self-defense or one which is dedicated to sport competition, your family can enjoy quality time practicing together as you reap the benefits of fitness, life skills, mental readiness, values and quality community building traits.
We, in the martial arts community, are striving to better ourselves by putting less focus on the differences between us and our local competitors and more emphasis on how we can keep your sons and daughters alive in combat, whether it’s in the streets of Iraq or on a U.S. college campus. The statistics for murder, sexual assault and domestic abuse have reached epidemic levels and we are the ones to whom society turns for protection skills. Let me assure you that we do not take this obligation lightly.
As the needs of society grow in the area of self defense and moral values training, we will continue to seek new knowledge to assist you in every area possible for the successful, happy and healthy future you wish for your children.
If you are not actively involved in martial arts, let me encourage you to seek out training today. There are schools in your area for whatever environment and training you wish, be it Religious based or Worldly. Visit several schools in your area, make a decision and join! Don’t wait. You never know how soon it may be too late.
